Short, long or somewhere in between
Ad hoc shifts are the most flexible: you take what fits and leave what does not. Block bookings give you a set run in one place. Longer placements suit people who like getting to know a setting properly. Flamingo Workforce places staff from a single shift up to permanent roles, so if you start with the odd weekend and later want something steadier, we can talk about that. Whatever the length, you still choose days, nights or weekends.
Across Greater Glasgow and Lanarkshire
Work comes from hospital wards, nursing and residential homes and community services, plus one to one shifts. We match you by postcode and travel time, so the shifts we suggest are ones you can reach, and if you are prepared to travel further, towards Edinburgh or beyond, just say.
What you do
Healthcare assistants support nurses and care teams. You help with personal care and moving safely, keep people fed and hydrated, take and record observations and look after their comfort and safety. Keeping clear records, on time, is part of every shift.
What we need from you
In Scotland that starts with PVG scheme membership, which we can arrange if you do not already have it. We also need six months or more of recent healthcare assistant or care experience in the UK, the right to work here and two references for your recent employment. The Care Certificate, or a willingness to complete it with our help. In date mandatory training covering basic life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding, with occupational health clearance and immunisations to match the setting.
Pay and how to apply
£13 to £15 an hour depending on the shift and setting, paid weekly. Apply with your CV on the site and we will ring within one working day. We will ask where you want to work, then get your compliance file underway. Once it is complete, you are free to take your first shift.
