Homes, wards and community work
We book healthcare assistants into nursing and residential homes across the Lothians, as well as hospital wards, community services and one to one shifts. You work with the nurses and the care team on personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration and observations, and you keep records that are accurate and written up in good time. If you prefer the familiarity of homes, tell us. If you want variety, we can offer that too.
Choosing your hours
Days, nights or weekends: you decide. Take one ad hoc shift, a block booking or a longer placement. We look at your postcode and how long getting there would take, so we are offering work that is realistic for you, even if you are coming in from further afield, from Glasgow, Dundee or Northumberland.
PVG and the rest of your file
Working in Scotland means PVG scheme membership. If you are not a member yet, we can arrange it. You also need six months or more of recent healthcare assistant or care experience in the UK, the right to work in the UK and two references covering your recent jobs. Hold the Care Certificate or be willing to complete it with our support. Your mandatory training (basic life support, moving and handling, infection prevention and safeguarding) must be current, and you will need occupational health clearance and the right immunisations for the setting.
Pay, then applying
The rate is £13 to £15 an hour depending on the shift and setting, paid weekly. Apply through the site with your CV. We call within one working day, discuss where you want to work and open your compliance file, and your first shift can follow once it is complete.
